Dear Families,

We would like to thank all of our John Darling students and families for a great school year!

Our appreciation also goes out to our wonderful School Council who this year organized events such as the Herrles Produce Sale, the Giving Tree, Movie Night, Scientists in the School, Chess and our fun fair, Darlingfest. We have many dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly for the benefit of our children.  Thank you and please consider how you might like to be involved next year!

On September 4th (the first day for grades 1-6 students), parents are asked to gather with their children on the tarmac at the back of the school.  Teachers will be holding up name/grade signs. Students will find their teacher and line up with him/her. Once the bell rings at 8:50, classes will make their way into the school.  Parents are asked to say good-bye on the tarmac as the hallways will be very busy with everyone entering at once.

A reminder that class lists will not be posted on doors and windows of the school this year.  Instead you will be able to log in to School-Day starting Saturday, September 1st at noon to find your child’s class.

To do this, log into your account and click “Schools and Groups” on the blue left hand side menu, then click “Your Classes.” This will show the classes and groups your child is linked to within our school.

If you are not sure of your child’s class and teacher name, we will have a number of staff members available on the first day of school to help students find their classes.

Junior Kindergarten students will be on a staggered entry schedule.  Parents and children will have a short, scheduled meeting with the teacher on September 4th.  Senior Kindergarten students will start school on September 5th, 2018. Please refer to the letter that was sent to your home for more details.

Please note our “Meet the Teacher/Families” night will be Sept 6 from 6:30-7:30 p. m.
