John Darling is having a Fall Food Drive!

Our Grade 4/5 class is leading us in this community drive.  They have been researching some very interesting facts.

 

Did you know that…

– approximately 25 ooo people in the Waterloo region need emergency food each year?

– the people who use the food bank include:  single parents, two parent families, couples without kids, single people.  That’s basically everyone!

– the most needed food items are:  peanut butter, beans and sauce, canned fish & canned fruit, cold cereal, pasta & sauce and rice

The Waterloo region Food Bank would like to raise 34 ooo pounds of food.

 

We are challenging John Darling PS to raise 25o items to help our region meet this goal!
